Portland Timbers defender Ismaila “Ish” Jome will be out the remainder of the season after rupturing his left Achilles tendon during training on Monday. The Timbers announced on Thursday that the defender received surgery on Wednesday at Sports Medicine Oregon and that he will conduct his rehabilitation with the Timbers.
Jome was signed earlier this month to a one-year deal with a club option for an additional year. Last season, the 26-year-old defender played in the USL with Austin Bold FC, scoring two goals in 16 appearances. Jome has also played for the Colorado Springs Switchbacks, Nashville SC, and the Timbers’ U-23 side.
