Roy Miller is staying in the Rose City. The veteran MLS defender has joined USL Championship side Portland Timbers 2, the club announced in an official statement Saturday.
Miller spent the past two seasons with the first team, earning plaudits and becoming a fan favorite for his steady presence on the backline in 2017. Miller spent the 2018 season recovering from a ruptured Achilles injury suffered during the 2017 postseason. During his rehab he made seven appearances for T2, all of them starts.
Miller brings experience and versatility to the T2 defense, being able to slot in at either center back or left back.
