PORTLAND, Ore. – Portland Thorns FC have signed defender Kelli Hubly as a National Team Replacement player, it was announced today.
Hubly will serve as national team replacement for forward Hayley Raso, who is away on international duty with the Australia Women’s National Team in preparation for the 2018 AFC Asian Cup. In 2017, Hubly appeared in two matches for Thorns FC as a substitute, making her debut for the club on July 15 against the North Carolina Courage.
National Team Replacement players can be signed when a national team player is away on international duty and will not count against the team’s 20-player roster limit.
