This Is Jack Jewsbury’s Last Season: Savor It

Jack Jewsbury is retiring.

The Old Salty Dog is hanging up his boots after the 2016 season, the Portland Timbers’ club captain announced at Sunday’s Stand Together Banquet.

In a fourteen year career in MLS, Jewsbury, 35, notched over 350 regular season and playoff appearances in the league, including 163 for the Timbers over the club’s six seasons since joining Major League Soccer.

Jewsbury was there when the Timbers played their first ever match in Major League Soccer in 2011.

Jewsbury was there when the Timbers hoisted their first MLS-era Cascadia Cup in 2012.

Jewsbury was there when the Timbers won the West and played their first MLS Cup playoff matches in 2013.
