Rose City Forecast 27: Portland Timbers vs Colorado Rapids

After playing for the midweek win, coach Gio Savarese left a few key players in Portland for some much needed rest while the rest of the team flew to Boston to face the New England Revolution. Between the secondary squad, the cross country travel, and third game in seven days, it looked like Portland was playing for a draw, and that’s what they got as Lawrence Olum redirected a deflected corner kick to cancel a New England goal from Scott Caldwell. It was the Timbers’ only shot on goal, so good thing it went in.
