From unlocking a long waiting list for tickets to the chance to play on natural grass, Portland Timbers fans have weighed in on the possibility of expanding seating at Providence Park.
Officials with the team have reached out to the city of Portland about the prospects of adding more seats, according to a report last week.
The Timbers won the MLS Cup title Dec. 6 and routinely sell out their matches. Avid fans line up even days in advance of matches and the waiting list for tickets is lengthy.
The Portland Thorns of the National Women's Soccer League also draw big numbers, making soccer tickets some of the toughest to get for area sports fans.
