The Portland Timbers will open preseason camp for the 2016 season on Jan. 23 and host the four-team Simple Invitational Feb. 21-27 at Providence Park, the team announced Friday.
In the Simple Invitational, Portland will play host to the Vancouver Whitecaps, Chicago Fire and the NASL's Minnesota United, with doubleheaders on Sunday, Feb. 21, Wednesday, Feb. 24 and Saturday, Feb. 27.
Coming off their victory in the MLS Cup, the Timbers will train in Portland in January before leaving for a 15-day trip to Tucson, Arizona, on Jan. 29. Here's Portland's slate of preseason games in Tucson at the Kino Sports Complex:
