PORTLAND, Ore. – The Portland Timbers selected goalkeeper Wade Hamilton from Cal Poly and defender Trevor Morley from Cal-State University Northridge during the final two rounds of the 2016 MLS SuperDraft, held Tuesday via conference call.
Portland selected Hamilton (No. 61 overall) with the 20th pick in the third round, while Morley was selected with the final pick of the draft (No. 81 overall) in the fourth round.
Hamilton, 21, was a two-time Big West Conference Goalkeeper of the Year at Cal Poly, earning the honor in 2014 and 2015.
