The Portland Timbers are reportedly on the verge of signing midfielder Ned Grabavoy and defender Zarek Valentin.
Goal USA reported Friday that the Timbers are acquiring Grabavoy as a free agent and and making a trade with the Montreal Impact to secure Valentin's rights.
Grabavoy spent six seasons as a key piece in Real Salt Lake's midfield before moving to New York City FC last season. While Grabavoy could bring depth and MLS experience to the Timbers, it is not exactly clear where he would fit in to Portland's midfield and 4-3-3 formation.
