The Portland Timbers have signed winger Victor Arboleda on a short term loan from their USL side Portland Timbers 2, making the young Colombian available for tonight’s CONCACAF Champions League match against CD Saprissa.
Arboleda, 20, made 25 appearances with T2 over the course of the 2016 season, notching four goals and an assist for the side.
A quick, technical player with the ability to cut inside or get to the end line, Arboleda should provide the Timbers first team with width against Saprissa if he makes an appearance.
Giving this opportunity to the youngster could signal that he is expected to be part of the Timbers plans this offseason, potentially joining recent Timbers homegrown signing Marco Farfan as a player to make the jump to the first team roster.
