Portland Timbers disassembled by D.C. United in 4-1 loss

The Portland Timbers have started a new streak and are now two games without a point after tonight’s 4-1 loss to Eastern Conference side D.C. United. After a strong start to the match, the Timbers were taken apart by the home side, giving up four goals for the first time since their March 10th demolition at the hands of the New York Red Bulls.

The Timbers opened the scoring the 35th minute, notching their first goal from the run of play since facing the Houston Dynamo three weeks ago. Working the ball around the United box, the Timbers passed from Zarek Valentin to Sebastian Blanco to Andy Polo and finally to Samuel Armenteros in the heart of the box.
