Portland Timbers 2 set to leave USL Championship

The Beautiful Game Network reported this morning that Portland Timbers 2 is one of three teams that plans to leave the USL Championship and League One at the end of the season. Philadelphia Union II and Orlando City B will also both pull out, with Philly leaving Championship and Orlando City leaving League One.

Portland has been a part of the league since 2015, with their best finish coming in 2018. That season, they finished sixth in the conference as they were led by players like Jeremy Ebobisse and Eryk Williamson.

Timbers 2 had a tough season this year, going 3-0-13 (W-D-L) and finishing last in Group A for the USL Championship.
