The Thorns (7-5-5) are in New Jersey to face bottom-of-the-table Sky Blue FC (0-12-3) in a week where the league is without its US internationals in preparation for the Tournament of Nations. With a win, Portland would jump Chicago and Orlando to slide into third place, and with the playoff race coming down to the wire, these are three points the Thorns can’t really afford to drop.
