Portland Thorns FC announced Thursday that the club has re-signed four players. The players include goalkeeper Bella Bixby, forward Tyler Lussi, defender Madison Pogarch and midfielder Angela Salem. The Portland Thorns also added goalkeeper Shelby Hogan, which Mark Parsons unofficially announced in his press conference at the start of the preseason. All five players signed one-year contracts.
Hogan played three seasons at Providence College from 2017–19. The 22-year-old goalkeeper started 60 consecutive matches throughout her three seasons. At Providence, she recorded a 82.8% save percentage, making 288 saves and kept 21 clean sheets. In 2019, Hogan was named BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Year, All-BIG EAST First Team and United Soccer Coaches All-East Region Third Team.
