MATCH RECAP | Vancouver Whitecaps FC 4, Portland Timbers 1

VANCOUVER, B.C. – The Portland Timbers fell 4-1 to Vancouver Whitecaps FC on Sunday at BC Place in Vancouver, B.C.

The Whitecaps got on the board first in the 13th minute when Whitecaps winger Giles Barnes finished past Timbers goalkeeper Jake Gleeson.

Barnes added his second goal of the match in the 32nd minute, finishing a well-placed strike into the far corner of goal.

In the second half, the Whitecaps struck twice in close succession.

Midfielder Pedro Morales struck a rocket from the top of the 18-yard box into the upper corner of the net in the 54th minute.
