PORTLAND, Ore. - Playing their final match at Providence Park this season, the Timbers U-23s battled Lane United FC to a 3-3 draw in front of 5,128 fans on Providence Health & Fitness Day on Tuesday afternoon.
The Timbers U-23s (0-1-2, 2pts) built a 2-0 lead in the first half behind a brace from midfielder Tim Mueller. Mueller, who has recorded three goals in the last two matches, opened the scoring in the 13th minute when he placed his left-footed strike into the far side netting. In the 45th minute, Mueller quickly pounced on a loose ball in the box before firing his shot into the back of the net.
