PORTLAND, Ore.- The Portland Timbers took all three points from its Cascadia rivals as they defeated Vancouver Whitcaps FC 4-2 Sunday at Providence Park. Diego Valeri and Dairon Asprilla scored on penalty kicks, while Jack McInerney and Darlington Nagbe also tallied for Portland. Kekuta Manneh and Pedro Morales scored for Vancouver.

Just four minutes into the match, Portland took the lead after Valeri smashed a penalty kick past David Ousted. The spot kick came after McInerney was fouled in the box by Vancouver defender Pa Modou Kah.
