PORTLAND, Ore. – Behind four first half goals, the Portland Timbers defeated the Seattle Sounders FC 4-2 Sunday afternoon at Providence Park. Vytas, Fanendo Adi, Lucas Melano, and Steven Taylor all found the score sheet in the first 45 minutes to propel the hosts to victory.
With the victory, Portland (9-10-8, 35 points) moves three points clear of the red line in the MLS Western Conference standings. The goals for Portland started in the 16th minute when Vytas put the home side ahead when he turned a Jack Jewsbury corner kick home with a powerful header for his first-ever Timbers goal.
