PORTLAND, Ore. – Midfielder Yimmi Chara scored a goal in his third straight game and the Portland Timbers won their second match in a row defeating Seattle Sounders FC 1-0 Wednesday night at Providence Park.
Portland goalkeeper Steve Clark made a season-high six saves and the Portland defense faced 19 shots in earning the team's second clean sheet of the season.
The three earned points catapulted the Timbers into a tie for for points with 21 atop the Western Conference with Seattle.
