PORTLAND, ORE. - The Portland Timbers returned home Wednesday night with a 1-1 tie against the Montreal Impact in front of a sold-out Providence Park. Jack McInerney scored for the hosts, while Ignacio Piatti had a goal for the Impact.
The Timbers took the lead when McInerney powerfully headed in a Jack Jewsbury corner in the 14th minute. McInerney now has five goals for Portland in 2016.
Portland almost added a second goal 13 minutes later but Fanendo Adi's header was saved off the line by a Montreal defender.
