Portland Timbers forward Jeremy Ebobisse made his U.S. national team senior debut as the USMNT defeated Panama 3-0 in a friendly Sunday night at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Ariz. Ebobisse was one of five starters making their first ever national team appearance, joining defenders Nick Lima and Daniel Lovitz, and midfielders Corey Baird and Djordje Mihailovic, tying a record for number of first time starters not seen since 1992.
For Ebobisse, it was moment that he would not soon forget.
"It was really exciting to get [my first cap] at such a young age–21–it’s not something I thought would happen," he said after the match.
