Portland Timbers midfielder Diego Valeri is one of four finalists for the 2018 ESPY for “Best MLS Player.”
Valeri, the reigning MLS MVP, is joined by Chicago Fire’s Nemanja Nicoliu0107 and two players from Sporting Kansas City in Tim Melia and Ike Opara among the nominees.
During his MVP campaign in 2017, Valeri recorded 21 goals and 11 assists, becoming just the second player in MLS history to have 20 or more goals and 10 or more assists in the same season. His combined 32 goals and assists lead all of MLS last season and he was named an MLS All-Star and to the MLS Best XI.
