TUCSON, Ariz. - A Kino Sports Complex record crowd of 4,064 fans witnessed the Portland Timbers in their final game of their 12-day preseason trip to Tucson play against Seattle Sounders FC. Portland featured 24 players in the match with two different XI's playing 45 minutes each.
Portland's first group scored a goal early. Following a foul to midfielder Darren Mattocks to the left of the 18-yard box, Diego Valeri lined up a free kick. With pinpoint precision, he found Fanendo Adi in the six-yard box who headed in the Timbers first goal in the 17th minute.
