SPOKANE, Wash. – Portland sophomore Iva Zelic pulled out her third consecutive three-set win to claim the singles title in the top draw of the Gonzaga Invitational which concluded Sunday at the Stevens Center.
Zelic knocked off Gonzaga's Catherine Broerman in a third set super tiebreaker in Sunday's final. It was the highlight of an impressive all-around performance for the Pilots at the weekend event. RImona Rouf also reached her draw's final, but fell in a third set heartbreaker to Washington's Yolanda Lin.
"I am so proud of our team and the effort they played with this whole week," head coach Filip Zivkovic said.
