EUGENE, Ore. – University of Portland alumnus Woody Kincaid '15 punched his ticket to the Tokyo Olympics with a remarkable performance to win the 10,000-meter run at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials on Friday night at Hayward Field.
Kincaid, a member of the Bowerman Track Club, was patient throughout the race and slowly worked his way toward the front before bursting out and pulling away by covering the final 400 meters in 53.47, more than a second faster than the rest of the field.
Kincaid was a two-time track All-American while at Portland and also helped the cross country squad earn it's first podium finish in third place at the 2014 NCAA Championships.
