Woody Kincaid Takes Eighth in the 5000M Final at the Olympic Trials

EUGENE, Ore. --- Woody Kincaid ran an impressive race this evening, placing eighth in the 5000 meter final at the Olympic Trials held at Historic Hayward Field. He finished just behind world competitors Benard Lagat, Hassan Mead, and Paul Chelimo and out-kicked the Olympic favorite Galen Rupp.

Kincaid ran aggressively, making a statement by leading the pack for most of the race and attempting to pull away from the group in the third and fourth lap. By the end of the race, Kincaid positioned himself to kick from the middle of the group to produce an eighth place finish with a time of 13:39.
