MOSCOW, Idaho – The Portland women's tennis team held off the Idaho Vandals by a 5-2 margin for the team's third consecutive win on Saturday at the Kibbie Dome. The Pilots improve to 4-2 overall, while the Vandals drop to 1-3.
The marathon match began with a tightly contested doubles point that the Pilots secured. Iva Zelic and Sally Pethybridge took No. 1 doubles with a 6-4 result to improve to 4-1 this Spring, but Idaho won No. 3 doubles. Rimona Rouf and Aleksandra Dimitrijevic then clinched with a 6-4 win at No. 2. The duo improved to 5-1 in dual doubles action this season.
