PORTLAND, Ore. – Gabe Taylor scored a career-high 17 points and Alec Wintering added 17 points, five rebounds and six assists to lead the Portland Pilots to an 81-73 victory over Sacramento State Saturday night at the Chiles Center.
D'Marques Tyson added 13 points off the bench for the Pilots (5-6).
Cody Demps paced the Hornets (6-3) with 20 points, while Justin Strings added 15.
The Pilots controlled most areas of the game from the start, jumping out to a 46-32 lead at the half behind 7-for-11 shooting from three-point range in the period. Portland would extend the lead to as much as 16 points in the second half and maintained a double-digit margin for most of regulation.
