MORAGA, Calif. – The Saint Mary's Gaels made their first 11 field goal attempts of the second half en route to an 89-74 victory over the Portland Pilots on Saturday night in West Coast Conference men's basketball action at McKeon Pavilion.
The Gaels (17-2, 8-1 WCC) solidified sole possession of first place in the conference standings with a home sweep of Gonzaga and the Pilots (9-13, 3-6) this week.
Saint Mary's shot 63 percent from the field and gained a 39-18 rebounding margin. Junior forward Dane Pineau went 10-for-11 from the field and finished with 20 points and 13 rebounds.
