PORTLAND, Ore. --- The Portland Pilots fought hard in three sets with the Pepperdine Waves at the Chiles Center on Saturday afternoon. The Waves won the match in three sets, with set scores of 25-14, 26-24 and 25-20.
Junior Liz Reich provided the firepower on offense, notching 15 kills. Junior Kellie Hughes recorded her fifth double-double of the season (28 assists, 13 digs), while Senior Shayla Hoeft recorded seven kills & two blocks.
The match began as a close affair, until a 5-2 run gave the Waves (13-10, WCC 9-3) a slim lead in the first set at 11-7.
