MALIBU, Calif. --- The Pepperdine Waves evened their West Coast Conference series with the Portland Pilots by claiming a 6-2 win on Saturday afternoon at Eddy D. Field Stadium. Cody Hawken finished with a pair of hits for the Pilots, which included an RBI double and a run scored.
The Waves (29-21, 17-9 WCC), who entered the afternoon sitting in first place in the WCC, did most of their damage in the bottom of the second inning when they surged ahead with a four-run frame. Pepperdine's Chase Lambert began the scoring with a two-run double, and Brandt Belk made it a 4-0 game with a two-run single.
