MALIBU, Calif. --- The Portland Pilots faced Pepperdine Thursday night in the Firehouse Fieldhouse as the first match of the second half of conference on the road. The Waves claimed three sets over the Pilots with scores of 25-16, 25-19, and 25-19.
Though the Pilots (14-10, 5-7) took the first two points of the set, Pepperdine (14-12, 6-7) produced a six-point run to pull ahead by four. The Waves continued to push their lead to 14-7 before seniors Hannah Troutman and Sarah Savoca, along with freshman Liz Reich added three kills in attempt to catch Pepperdine. The two teams exchanged the next several points, until the Waves ended the set with a short run, led by back-to-back kills from Jasmine Gross.
