PORTLAND, Ore. --- The Portland women's basketball program added another recruit as Elena Alaix, a 6-3 forward from Madrid, Spain, has committed to the program and will join the Pilots as a freshman, announced head coach Cheryl Sorenson.
"Elena is a versatile player at 6-foot-3," said Sorenson. "Her perimeter skills will help stretch the floor offensively. We love her high level of play and her international experience, and we're excited to welcome Elena to Portland."
Alaix plays for Rivas, which is considered one of the most competitive clubs in Spain, and she averaged 15 points and eight rebounds, while shooting 50 percent from beyond the three-point arc.
