SEATTLE, Wash. --- The Portland Pilots got in a final tune-up before next week's West Coast Conference Championships by competing at the prestigious Opening Day Regatta/Windermere Cup, which took place on a picture-perfect Saturday on Lake Washington near the UW campus. The Pilots raced both their varsity four and varsity eight at the event regatta.
The varsity eight had a solid showing on Lake Washington, finishing only behind the host Huskies. The Pilots posted a time of 7:05.059 to finish ahead of both Seattle and Western Washington. Nationally-ranked Washington took the top spot with a time of 6:50.
