OREM, Utah --- The Utah Valley Wolverines broke a scoreless tie with five runs in the fourth inning before holding off the Portland Pilots to claim a 6-4 win on Friday night at Brent Brown Ballpark. The win evens the series at one apiece, with game three of the four-game set scheduled for tomorrow night.
After three-and-a-half innings of scoreless baseball, the Wolverines (8-8) got to Portland (9-5) starter Davis Tominaga for a five-spot in the bottom of the fourth. Only one of the runs was earned as the Pilots hurt themselves with three errors in the inning.
