SAN DIEGO, Calif. --- Alex Fowler recorded a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds and the West Coast Conference game between Portland and San Diego was closely contested from the opening whistle, but the Toreros held off the Pilots in the fourth quarter to win 66-59 on Thursday night at the Jenny Craig Pavilion. Haylee Andrews also had a solid game for the Pilots, finishing with 17 points, six rebounds, and six assists.
San Diego (12-5, 9-3 WCC) took an early lead in the first quarter and were soon ahead by nine. The Pilots (10-10, 7-7 WCC) responded, and a quick 7-0 run brought them within two.
