CORVALLIS, Ore. --- The Portland Pilots men's and women's track and field teams concluded the first day of competition at the OSU High Performance Meet in Corvallis Ore., with noteworthy personal records and all-time record performances.
Sophomore Michael Teran Solono produced a standout performance on the night with more than a 45 second personal record in the 5000m invitational heat, finishing third and crossing the finish line in 13:59.02.
"That may have been one of the biggest breakthroughs in Pilot history!" said head coach Rob Conner. "It was definitely the race of the year for us. We are very proud of Michaels effort.
