VILLANOVA, Penn. -- Trista Hull collected a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds, but the Portland Pilots fell to the Villanova Wildcats 71-61 on the road Thursday in the quarterfinals of the Women's Basketball Invitation Tournament. The loss ends the season for the Pilots.
The Pilots (31-5) had two players score in double figures, led by Emme Shearer, who had 17 points. Hull added a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds and McKelle Meek added eight points, seven assists and two steals.
The loss ends what has been a historic season for Portland. They end the year with a program-record 31 wins, the second most ever by a WCC team.
