SAN DIEGO, Calif. --- The San Diego Toreros jumped out to an early lead before claiming a 10-2 win over the Portland Pilots in a West Coast Conference baseball game played on Friday night at Fowler Park. Portland's Hunter Montgomery homered for the second straight game.
Montgomery's homer, his team-best eighth of the year, came in the fourth inning. The two-out solo shot to left field was the Pilots' second run of the inning after Cody Hawken provided an RBI single earlier in the frame.
But it wasn't enough as San Diego (25-14, 9-8 WCC) scored six runs in the bottom of the first, two more in the fourth, one in the fifth, and another in the seventh en route to the win.
