PORTLAND, Ore. – Tyler Robertson scored 16 of his team-high 19 points in the second half as the Portland Pilots grinded out a 62-58 win over the Alcorn State Braves Saturday night at the Chiles Center.
Chris Austin added 16 points and four rebounds for the Pilots (2-1), while Moses Wood added 14. Byron Joshua of the Braves (0-3) led all scorers with 20.
Portland held the Braves to just 31 percent shooting for the game and 3-of-15 from three-point range. The stout defense allowed the Pilots to overcome a 34 percent shooting night and just 5-for-23 from beyond the arc.
