LOS ANGELES, Calif. --- Portland freshman Taryn Ries scored her first career goal in the 104th minute as the Pilots claimed a dramatic 2-1 win over the Loyola Marymount Lions in a West Coast Conference women's soccer game played on Saturday night at Sullivan Field. Lucy Davidson assisted on the winner, and Portland goalkeeper Rachel Lusby was stellar in goal, providing 11 saves on the night.
With the game tied 1-1 in the second extra period, Davidson sent a short pass to Ries inside the 18-yard box. Ries did the rest, staying composed and finishing past the LMU (6-5-3, 1-3-0 WCC) keeper to send the Pilots home victorious.
