SEATTLE, Wash.---The Pilots beach volleyball team faced stiff opposition on opening day of the Husky Invitational on Saturday, being topped 5-0 by receiving-votes Washington, eighth-ranked Hawai'i, and Oregon in a triple-header at Alki Beach.
"After two weeks away from competition, we were fired up to get after it today against our toughest opponents yet," said Portland coach Dylan Hamilton. "The team showed some great resilience in the face of difficult weather conditions and battled extremely hard with all three teams. We're excited to get back at it tomorrow."
Portland is set to face the Rainbow Wahine at 10 a.
