SACRAMENTO, Calif. – University of Portland junior Taryn Rawlings improved her school record in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 14:13.35 to qualify for the NCAA Championship meet in the final day of the NCAA West Preliminary on Saturday night at Hornet Stadium.
Rawlings makes five Pilots that punched tickets the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, June 6-9 at Hayward Field in Eugene. It is the 27th consecutive year that Portland will be represented at the NCAA meet.
Senior Matt Welch and sophomore Emmanuel Roudolff-Levisse both qualified in the men's 10,000-meter run on Thursday, while junior Lauren LaRocco secured a spot in the women's 10,000-meter run as well.
