LYON, France – Former University of Portland soccer star Megan Rapinoe ('08) took home all of the top honors after leading the United States Women's National Team to the FIFA Women's World Cup France 2019™ championship on Sunday.
Rapinoe, who provided the game-winner with a penalty kick in the USA's 2-0 victory against the Netherlands, was named the Golden Ball recipient for the tournament's best player. She also took home the Golden Boot award as the top scorer of the World Cup.
Sporting purple hair throughout the tournament, the former Pilot racked up six goals and three assists.
