PORTLAND, Ore.---The Pilots stole a set from Portland State to even the game after two frames, but PSU would rally back to secure a 3-1 win in the opening volleyball match of the PDX Classic at Viking Pavilion on Thursday evening. PSU claimed the match with set scores of 25-11, 21-25, 25-17, and 25-7.
Jayde Harris ended with 14 kills against the Vikings, Noelani Helm finished just shy of her career-high with 27 assists, and Grace Zilbert added 13 digs for the Pilots defense.
Portland State (2-4, 0-0 Big Sky) jumped out to a 3-0 lead to open the game, yet the Pilots (3-4, 0-0 WCC) answered back with an ace from sophomore Nevaeh Bray and a block from Chelsey Harmon and Claire Forrest to keep Portland within range.
