PORTLAND, Ore. --- After a historic performance at the 2019 Husky Open, Portland's varsity eight was named the West Coast Conference Crew of the Month for March, it was announced Thursday morning. It's the first conference crew of the month recognition in Portland program history.
Last Saturday in Seattle, Wash., the Pilots set a program meet record with a time of 6:42.116 at the Husky Open. Miranda Reyes was at the coxswain position and Desi Petrova was at stroke for the Pilots, who finished first in their heat.
Previously, the varsity eight topped conference foe Saint Mary's for second place at the Sacramento State Invitational on Saturday, March 9.
