PORTLAND, Ore. – The Portland Pilots (21-15, 8-8 WCC) got up early and never looked back, beating the Pacific Tigers (11-25, 2-11 WCC) 15-3 in Portland. The win was Portland's largest of the season.
Brett Gillis earned the win after 6.2 innings with only two runs and five hits allowed and 10 strikeouts. The win was a team-high seventh for Gillis, and his 10 strikeouts marked the third time this season he's reached that total. Joey Gartrell also saw the mound for the Pilots, pitching 2.1 innings and getting five strikeouts.
The Pilots were dominant offensively, with 15 runs off 17 hits.
