SAN DIEGO, CALIF. -- The Portland Pilots brought a 6-4 lead into the ninth inning, but could not hold on and fell 7-6 to the San Diego Toreros Sunday.
Sophomore Jacob Dobmeier (2-1) took the loss on the mound for Portland (19-16, 9-6). Sophomore Jack Folkins was a bright spot out of the bullpen, going two shutout innings without allowing a hit, walking two and striking out one.
At the plate, the Pilots were led by sophomore Zach Toglia, who went 1-for-5 on the day with a home run and three RBI. Junior Evan Scavotto furnished a noteworthy day at the dish as well, going 2-for-5 with a home run and two RBI.
