PORTLAND, Ore. --- Portland scored twice in the first half and added another goal after the break as the Pilots cruised to a 3-0 win over the George Washington Colonials in a non-conference men's soccer game played on Friday night at Merlo Field. The Portland defense was stifling against the Colonials as the home side claims their second shutout of the year.
Portland's (1-1-1) first goal came in the 14th minute after the Pilots earned a free kick right of the 18. Rey Ortiz sent a ball towards the top of the six-yard box, and Luke Hendel was there to provide the finish to make it a 1-0 game.
