PORTLAND, Ore. – The Portland Pilots (18-11 , 5-5 WCC) took the first of three games against the San Diego Toreros (18-10, 6-4 WCC) 6-2. The win puts the Pilots back at .500 in conference play and snaps a three-game losing streak.
Brett Gillis was stellar once again on the mound, earning his sixth win of the year after going eight innings with only two runs and three hits allowed along with seven strikeouts. His six wins is among the most in the WCC.
The Pilots had six runs off 10 hits this Friday, with four Pilots earning two hits or more.
